The Latino Chamber of Commerce of Monmouth, Inc And The Latino American Association, Inc. in a Partnership with Monmouth Medical Center conducted a  “Business Networking and Community Health Event “  Friday, March 23, 2007, 7:00 PM-10:30 PM
at the Brazilian Rodeio Grill Restaurant,  78 Oceanport Avenue, West Long Branch, NJ 07764 Telephone 732 571 4800. The partnership’s purpose was to assess the current health status of the Latino Chamber of Commerce and Latino American Association members and their families through the collection of routine but very important health screening data. Monmouth Medical Center conducted a health screening and provided immediate results of blood pressure, total cholesterol and body fat composition to those that participated in the health screening testing.

The health-screening activities were performed at no cost and under the direct supervision and responsibility of qualified and experienced professionals from the Monmouth Medical Center.
There were over 75 participants at the event. The restaurant staff  also participated in the health-screaning.  Dinner was then served accompanied by an Ecuadorian trio that played music from the South American Andes to the delight of those present. The overall activity was an outstanding success. The Chamber thanks the technical support provided by Monmouth Medical Center.

One of the primary objectives of the Chamber is to build bridges of understanding among the communities that form Monmouth County. The Chamber working with Meridian exceeded the Chamber’s objectives while emphasizing the need for a healthier community. It is with understanding and knowledge that one can strengthen relationships, revitalize and develop healthy and economically sound communities.
